I teach and research macroeconomics at the college level in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area and have four years of experience tutoring macroeconomics, microeconomics, and econometrics. Since earning my economics PhD at the University of Virginia in 2025, I have enjoyed guiding, helping, and encouraging students on their economics journey.
As a firm believer that teaching is the best form of learning, I seek to improve students' economic understanding through active back-and-forth discussion, encouraging students to find their own voice in explaining economics to me (and their peers). Additionally, as a visual learner myself, I heavily utilize figures and plots in my instruction. Combining visualizations with a communicative approach has proven highly effective for me. I am confident that I would be a useful resource for any student interested in gaining a broader and/or deeper understanding of macroeconomics, microeconomics, or econometrics.
My college-level teaching is in undergraduate macroeconomics, including principles, intermediate, and advanced topics. Within macroeconomics, my expertise includes monetary policy, fiscal policy, public debt management, economic growth, and firm dynamics. I teach macro as a micro-founded field, so I am also extremely comfortable with college-level microeconomic concepts and ideas as well, including game theory, public economics, and industrial organization.
I have experience teaching and tutoring students who come from all types of economics backgrounds: from taking your first micro or macro course to sitting in an AP or IB economics class to navigating intermediate or advanced undergraduate courses to taking 1st or 2nd year PhD courses, we’ll make progress confidently and comfortably.
