Hi, I'm Kristina! I have earned a PhD in English, a master's in English, a master's of fine arts in Writing, and a bachelor's degree in English. I have always loved learning, and have been lucky enough to have several wonderful teachers along the way—teachers who shared not only their expertise but their enthusiasm and love for the material. I started tutoring while I was still working on my bachelor's degree, and have been teaching and tutoring ever since, and have used the great models from my teachers to ensure that my work with students is not only informative, but useful and fun! I know that an enjoyable environment is so important for learning. When I teach and tutor, I ensure that I present the material clearly—and demonstrate the significance of the material to the student's life and overall goals.

I taught English and writing at universities across the US for more than ten years, often to students who are learning English. I have taught university-level courses in everything from American Literature, African-American Literature, Science Fiction, Literary Theory, Writing, and more. Additionally, I tutored English-language learners (of all ages) for more than five years. My methods are student-centered and individualized for each student. One of my favorite things about teaching is the one-on-one mentorship relationship, and I like to run my tutoring sessions like the after-class office hours I hold in person, where each individual student gets precisely the attention and care that they need.

While I taught university, I taught 18-22 year olds, as well as adult learners. I taught university courses in both an in-person classroom setting, as well as online courses. As a one-on-one tutor, I have tutored students from Kindergarten through adults, both in person and online. In my work as an online ESOL tutor, I have had the pleasure of working with adults from many different countries across the world! Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have; I will respond quickly!
