If your student is struggling with AP Calculus AB or feeling overwhelmed before the AP exam, I help turn confusing calculus topics into clear, step-by-step solutions so students can improve grades and gain real confidence with the material.
I specialize in AP Calculus AB and focus on the concepts students are tested on most: limits and continuity, the definition of the derivative, derivative rules (power, product, quotient, and chain rule), implicit differentiation, related rates, optimization, linear approximation, curve sketching, critical points, concavity, the Mean Value Theorem, and real-world applications of derivatives.
My tutoring approach focuses on clarity and structured problem solving. Instead of memorizing formulas, students learn how to break complex calculus problems into manageable steps and understand the reasoning behind each solution. This helps students become faster, more confident problem solvers on quizzes, tests, and AP-style free response questions (FRQs).
I also help students prepare specifically for the AP Calculus AB exam by practicing FRQs and multiple-choice strategies so they know how to approach the problems they will see on test day.
I graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas, where calculus was used extensively in coursework including calculus-based physics, chemistry, and fluid mechanics. I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam and graduated high school with a 3.9 GPA in the top 10% of my class.
I have several years of tutoring experience helping students succeed in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus, and now focus primarily on AP Calculus AB students.
Recent student results include improving grades from C to A, mastering derivatives and optimization problems, and building confidence with AP exam FRQs.
Because I focus on AP Calculus AB students, my tutoring schedule fills quickly during the school year and before the AP exam. Feel free to reach out if you would like to reserve a time.
