I am a history teacher certified by the state of Minnesota to teach history at the middle and high school levels. I earned my credentials in Bucharest, Romania, shortly after the collapse of communist regimes all over Europe. Coming to the “States” – as we call the United States back in Europe, I took extra college courses in multicultural education, and I had the opportunity to teach World History through the lens of a foreigner, thus enlarging my perspective on teaching the subject and understanding the viewpoint of culturally diverse students.

With a decade of experience in tutoring, primarily for AP World History and AP European History, I have a solid track record of helping students with their AP exams. My method is tailored to each student, but my goal remains the same: to equip them with the skills they need to succeed.

Students will learn to analyze historical documents, develop arguments, and organize evidence into defendable theses. They will also understand major themes in world history, acquire a worldwide perspective, compare and contrast major developments, and make connections between them.

But most importantly, they will learn that history is more than a collection of facts in a textbook that must be memorized. They will learn to use their judgment to make sense of what has happened and why, and ultimately, they will understand that history is their own story of where they came from and where they are going.
