Ahoy!
I hope to share my interest and love for learning with those who want to improve their (as well as mine :)) skills. Whether that be; reading (children's books, comics, graphic novels), writing (simple phrases, sentences, and paragraph construction), and teaching others the basics of English Language. I know it can be a lot to consider when tutors boast about all the experience they gained or have around their belt. I prefer to be as honest as I can. I struggled with confidence and speaking in front of people for most of my adolescence due to my cleft lip/palette; the trials of overcoming that fear have made me a better person. I want to provide a haven for my students that I was not granted, no judgment and no worries if mistakes are made. If I could succeed, my students can as well. I have an A.A just in General Studies. I did receive my TESOL/TEOFL certs in high school as well as college. I tutored students my age during college and afterwards I stuck with teens and young adults. Moreover, I have some experience tutoring and mentoring children between the ages of 4 and 12 years of age. Onwards, to begin lessons I like to do icebreakers first. If there is a good rapport, the session(s) will be much more smooth, especially for younger students. I have developed lesson plans before and I can base those models off of the students personalities and what they are comfortable learning first. We will go at YOUR pace. I hope to meet, teach, and learn new things along with you!
