I am a second year postdoctoral research fellow at the Mayo Clinic in the department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering. I have 5+ years of experience tutoring and teaching. Outside of work and academics, I rebuild motorcycles, grow exotic plants, and love the outdoors! I understand how frustrating classes can be. I was almost a high school dropout, rejected from colleges, started in community college, and worked my way to where I am now. The teachers and professors who never gave up on me are the reason I'm here and the reason I'm passionate about teaching. I understand how important it is to have someone in your corner and support you in your academic journey.
During my undergraduate degree, I was a tutor for 100 to 300 level biology, math, electronics, and a 100-200 level tutor in chemistry. During graduate school, I taught the biomedical instrumentation lab course for three years, taught an introductory course in research/statistics, and continued to privately tutor courses. In addition to wet lab research and general chemistry, I have jobs and pending patents related to biomedical instrumentation, custom data collection systems, and robotics/micro-controllers. I'm proficient coding in C, C++, python, Matlab, and R. I've tutored math from algebra to high level calculus.
I hope you'll give me a chance and look forward to working together! Thanks!
