Hi, I’m Travis! Whether you’re an undergraduate diving into geography for the first time or a graduate student working through a final capstone, I’m here to help you succeed. With over two decades of teaching human geography and geomorphology, plus 18+ years of specialized GIS experience, I love helping students bridge the gap between physical landscapes and the human elements that shape our world. Together, we can build a solid foundation for your research so your spatial analysis is accurate, clear, and well-reasoned.

My teaching style is tailored to how you learn best, whether you're brand new to GIS or mastering advanced spatial analytics. My background includes over two decades in remote sensing and geospatial analysis with organizations like the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the US Navy, and the US Army. Having trained hundreds of students and professionals in tools like ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and QGIS, I’m excited to share the professional workflows and shortcuts that will save you time and stress.

Beyond technical skills, I bring a deep passion for academic excellence. I hold a B.S. in Geography from Arizona State University, with a research focus on human geography and geographical statistics across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Southern Europe. I love helping students translate raw data into compelling, real-world stories that stand out.

I have used both ArcMap and ArcPro for over 12 years. Every 3-6 months I take a new ESRI course to stay current with updates to ESRI software. I use QGIS for community and personal GIS mapping projects. And, I currently work as a geospatial analyst.
