I am a mom of 3 kids, 2 boys ages 16 and 13 and a daughter who is 10. I have 3 dogs who I consider my other 3 kids who I love dearly. I spend most of my free time watching my boys play basketball, driving my daughter to horse riding lessons and as much time as possible camping and playing golf!

My love for the Spanish language started through a mission trip with my church while growing up in North Dakota. I majored in Spanish in college, and then taught English in Ecuador for a year after I graduated. I have a passion for the language and culture and love sharing my experiences and knowledge with others. With an educational Spanish base I expanded my Spanish knowledge through living in Mexico for the summer following my college years, then moved to Ecuador where I taught English for a year. I have also used my language knowledge for medical interpreting and travel assistance purposes. I love to help others learn the language and see the many doors it can open for them as well as broaden their cultural competence and tolerance for others.
Learning a language can be hard, but it can also be a lot of fun. I like to incorporate many different methods when teaching and tutoring, from games and songs to speaking and writing. I like to take a real-life approach to language, as you would if you were going to be communicating tomorrow with someone who speaks only Spanish. It requires practice, and I am here to help you find what works best for you! We will focus on what you struggle with and find ways to help it stick!
