About Oscar

Bio

Hi! My name is Oscar, and I grew up in Washington, DC. I attended St. Olaf College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in mathematics in 2023. That year I started tutoring students online and I now have two years of post-college tutoring experience.

Math is a subject many students find stressful or intimidating. It might make them anxious, or math might be their least favorite class, or both! No matter where a student is coming from, my goal is to create a low-stress environment...

Math is a subject many students find stressful or intimidating. It might make them anxious, or math might be their least favorite class, or both! No matter where a student is coming from, my goal is to create a low-stress environment where he or she feels comfortable making mistakes and asking questions.

I've worked with students from elementary school through college, often on Algebra or Algebra 2. I've helped students improve grades, understand tough homework and class concepts, prepare for the SAT and Regents exams, and get ahead by teaching future material.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a lesson!

Knowledgeable and engaging tutor

He helped my son, who was weary of working with a tutor, better understand several algebra concepts in an engaging way, so much so that my son asked for additional sessions with Oscar to help prepare for tests.

Oscar is the best

Oscar has helped my high schooler supplement her math classes all year. From understanding concepts to preparing her for her calculus exam, he is thoughtful and patient all the way. We highly recommend him. Thanks so much Oscar!!!

Tutor responded:

You're welcome! It was great doing math (although precalculus, not calculus) with her, and I wish her the best in all the rest of her schooling!
