I am a newly retired teacher. I taught public and private school for 37 years. I have taught all levels of mathematics from grade 7 - college. I want to tutor because I love teaching!

I have taught students who struggle with math and those who excel in math. I developed the AP calculus program in my school. I have taught AP Calculus AB for 21 years and BC calculus for 13 years. I have been an AP Reader for both AB and BC calculus for the past 5 years. I am excellent at predicting the free response questions on the exam. I know how the problems are graded. I know what to do on the exam and what not to do. My average score on the AP exams is about 4 out of 5

We can meet at my office near where I live. Or if that does not work, I can come to you. I offer both individual lessons and group lessons. You will always know where you are in your progress. I look forward to hearing from you!

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have taught mathematics for 37 years in a suburban school district. I have taught algebra 1 and 2 and geometry many years. Last year, I taught 2 sections of geometry. I have taught AP calculus for 21 years. I know exactly what students need to know from the "precalculus" so that they are prepared for AP Calculus, AP students, and college level mathematics. I have been an AP Calculus reader for the past 5 years so I know exactly the questions that will be asked and what the college board is looking for in the solutions that the students must present.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have taught all levels of algebra for 35 years with great success
Calculus,

Calculus

I have taught AP calculus for 21 years, and I have been an AP reader for the past 5 years. I started the AP calculus program in my district. My students have averaged 4/5 on the AP calculus exam. I am proficient with the Texas Instruments graphing calculators and can help your student use the calculator well when it is appropriate. I believe strongly that I could help your student find success in math!
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

I taught grade 7 through college calculus for 37 years. I also grade the AP calculus exam that is given every year. I teach for understanding - not memorization.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

Because I have a lot of experience teaching PreCalculus and AP Calculus (21 years), I would be able to tutor Precalculus quite easily. I am an AP Calculus Reader (for the past 5 years) and I know exactly what is needed on the AP Calculus exam. It is not the calculus where students have trouble but in the "precalculus" mathematics. Your student will grow and truly learn mathematics when they are taught by me. I believe in students understanding the math rather than rote memorization. When you understand, you remember!

ACT Math,

ACT Math

This past year, I worked with another math teacher to prepare ACT prep for our students in geometry. 40% of the exam is geometric thinking. So, I have studied the exam and what the students need to know. Because of my 37 years of experience, I am familiar with all the math that is being tested on the exam.
