Hello! I’m Riley. I am an undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities getting ready to wrap up my final semester! I’m studying developmental psychology, and hoping to attend interior design school the following fall.
I have always loved working with children and am passionate about helping others succeed. This led me to start tutoring back in high school, where I would go to my local elementary after school a few times a week and assist in both classroom aiding and specific subject tutoring. I found this experience to be extremely valuable and eye-opening, so I was so excited to hear about the opportunities on Wyzant!
I have extensive background in working with children with disabilities, and specialize in English, specifically reading and writing. I am fluent in Spanish, and have many hobbies that I would love to share my knowledge on as well! I’m hoping to positively impact my students, and look forward to forming a genuine connection while watching them succeed. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions, or to schedule a lesson!
I spent 2 years of high school tutoring at my local elementary school, along with volunteering as a classroom aide during my senior year. Additionally, I have nannied for multiple children from early elementary through middle school.
I completed multiple AP English courses and received a 33 ACT score on the English section. I have received A’s in all of my college English courses as well.
I have extensive background working with children with disabilities, ASD specifically. I completed an undergraduate internship through the Autism and Neurodevelopment Clinic at the UMN Masonic Children’s Hospital, and continue to conduct research there. Additionally, I have nannied for three different families with at least one child with a disability, and served as a summer school aide for two years.
I love to cook! I’ve taken cooking lessons in both Italy and Spain, and completed a nutrition class through UMN also.
