Over 25 years experience teaching high school, college, and adult learners, with the amazing privilege of working with students from almost every non-English-speaking country!

Two Master's degrees from the University of Minnesota, Hispanic Linguistics and Teaching English as a Second Language. Both Master's degrees are Applied Linguistics with an emphasis in Second Language Acquisition, and Phonetics/Phonology/Pronunciation.

Experience teaching at schools such as the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis College, Century College, and North Central University. This includes teaching students at all levels of language ability -- from complete beginners to highly advanced learners. It also includes teaching college-level writing in both English and Spanish, so I can help with academic papers, or do proof-reading, editing and translating.

Many of my insights for language learning come from my own experience as a language learner: I have become fluent in Spanish, learned German as a child, and have even taken some beginning courses in Arabic.

I love helping each student figure out which specific things they need to focus on for improvement, so that they can feel more confident, and advance more quickly!! I am happy to work any student for just a few sessions, or longer-term... whatever you need!
