Bio

I love helping students achieve their true potential. I have a Bachelors in mathematics from Cornell where I graduated summa cum laude as the top math undergrad of the year, and then earned a PhD in mathematics from the California Institute of Technology. I started teaching by introducing accelerated high school students to college level mathematics at summer math camps. I continued teaching as an undergraduate and graduate student and have won numerous awards and distinctions for my teaching...

I love helping students achieve their true potential. I started teaching by introducing accelerated high school students to college level mathematics at summer math camps. I continued teaching as an undergraduate and graduate student and have won numerous awards and distinctions for my teaching over the years. After earning my PhD on higher dimensional geometry and topology, I continued to follow my passion for quality instruction by working as a curriculum designer, and specialized in machine learning and education technology.
Math classes at the best colleges tend to explore material well beyond what is standard, so any tutor that barely knows the material won't be able to keep up. I have taught and tutored for the most rigorous and intense math classes in the country. For students, most issues arise because professors assume students have already mastered material they may have never even encountered before. This missing material is then built on repeatedly until students are completely lost. Whether you are going from high school to college classes, or from introductory to abstract/theoretical math classes, I can help you fill in those essential gaps in understanding. The look a student gets when they finally "get it" and achieve an effortless understanding of previously difficult material is the best part of my day.
I am qualified for all high school and college math classes including algebra, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations and college algebra. My absolute favorite topics are linear algebra and calculus.

The Greatest Mathematics Tutor of All Time!

Stop he is the one. Whatever is your problem in math he will break it down and teach it to you in ways you could never imagine. Time and time again I come back to him astonished how complex mathematical problems become trivial solutions. With him I have covered full course load lengths of multi-variable calculus, differential equations, statistics and probability, and linear algebra. I have succeeded in these courses beyond my expectations and have grasped a mathematical understanding of these concepts that I know I will use in my professional life. Nakul oozes so much knowledge in a fun, yet professional way. Anyone that is so lucky as to be his student will realize what a gem he truly is. He is always on time, prepared, and patient. My fear for the Linear Algebra final is gone!!!

Worth it! I fell like my fear is gone for my Linear Algebra Final. He broke down subspaces, and how you use the rules of linear transformations to prove subspaces, but in a clear way due to his understanding. Nothing is harsh. It's just a smooth, informative lesson.

I have been working with Nakul for a few sessions now, he is absolutely amazing at helping me with my Calculus 2 course... he has an intimate knowledge of the subject and is always capable of expanding explanations past the basic derivations you would see in textbooks. He is great about showing you how certain topics apply to real life, and providing perspectives that make topics feel more wholesome. He always has the sort of difficult questions I search for online but have trouble finding: those that prove themselves really helpful with tackling a wide diversity of problems (clever substitutions, algebraic manipulations, etc.) . I'd highly recommend him to anyone that wants to bring their math to the next level!
