Hi! I’m Vennela, a recent computer science college graduate and incoming software engineer at Google. I scored a perfect 36 on the ACT and a 1590 on the SAT in 2022, so I’m very familiar with the current tests and the skills and strategies needed to succeed. I also have over 3 years of standardized test tutoring experience and specialize in helping students improve their scores through targeted, individualized preparation.
My approach starts by identifying exactly where a student is losing points. Rather than simply completing practice test after practice test, we analyze mistakes to determine whether they come from a content gap, misreading the question, inefficient strategy, or time pressure. I then build sessions around the areas that will have the greatest impact on the student’s score.
For the ACT and SAT, I teach section-specific strategies. In English, students learn to recognize recurring grammar and rhetorical patterns. In Math, we strengthen underlying concepts while practicing efficient solution methods and recognizing what each problem is really asking. In Reading and Writing, I teach students to locate textual evidence, distinguish supported answers from tempting distractors, and develop a passage strategy that works for their pacing. In the ACT Science, we focus on quickly interpreting graphs, experiments, and conflicting viewpoints without getting distracted by unfamiliar terminology.
I also place a strong emphasis on pacing and test-day decision-making. Students learn when to spend more time on a question, when to move on, how to eliminate answers strategically, and how to avoid losing easy points to preventable mistakes. My goal is for students to understand not only the material, but also how the test works. By tracking patterns in mistakes and practicing targeted strategies, students develop a repeatable approach they can use independently and confidently on test day.
