I am an award-winning, experienced teacher of gifted/talented students at the elementary and middle school level. I have led students to National Championships in National History Day and the InvestWrite essay contest; I know how to help students maximize their potential.

I have a Master's Degree and a certificate in Gifted/Creative/Talented Education from the University of St. Thomas (MN), and a BA in psychology and sociology from St. Olaf College (MN).

I specialize in writing and help learners use thinking maps for organization and structure. I have a strong background in learners who are visual-spatial; these students learn differently and often struggle with traditional approaches. I have a long history of helping learners gain executive functioning skills; often these are the barriers to success vs. content knowledge or conceptual understanding. Finally, I have taught and tutor math content from grades K-7 and have expertise in social studies and reading.
