I am a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with over six years of acute care experience and currently a senior student in an LPN-to-ADN program. I have worked as a float nurse across multiple specialties, including medical-surgical, respiratory, oncology, general surgery, vascular, orthopedic, gastrointestinal (GI), emergency department (ED) hold, and renal units. I passed the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPRNE) in 2016 and the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) in 2023. My diverse clinical background allows me to connect theory to real-world practice and effectively teach both foundational and advanced nursing concepts.
I specialize in helping students succeed on the NCLEX-PN and am highly experienced in teaching NCLEX strategies, test-taking techniques, and clinical judgment using NGN-style reasoning. I can also certainly help students preparing for the NCLEX-RN, including support with unit exams throughout nursing school. I am very familiar with commonly used nursing resources such as Lippincott and ATI, and I incorporate these into my teaching to align with what students are learning in their programs. In addition to exam preparation, I teach core nursing content to both LPN and RN students, including medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, care planning, and prioritization.
I have several years of mentoring and teaching experience in one-on-one settings, working with adult learners including LPN students, first-semester ADN students, and newly hired nursing staff. My teaching has taken place in clinical environments and peer-learning settings, where I tailor each session to the student’s learning style and goals. I strive to create a supportive and structured environment where students build confidence, strengthen weak areas, and develop the critical thinking skills needed to succeed both in school and on their licensing exams.
