I am a Special Education teacher with over ten years of experience working with children and adolescents in both general and special education settings. I hold a bachelor’s degree in human services and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Special Education. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with students who have learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and executive functioning challenges. My educational background and ongoing professional development have given me a strong foundation in differentiated instruction, data-driven teaching, and individualized learning plans.
I have taught and tutored students ranging from early elementary through middle school, with extensive experience in one-on-one, small group, and classroom-based instruction. Currently, I work as a Special Education Resource Teacher at the middle school level, where I support students in math, reading, writing, and social-emotional skill development. I also have prior experience teaching in kindergarten and third grade, which allows me to adapt my instructional style across a wide range of ages and learning levels. My tutoring approach focuses on building confidence, breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, and using real-world examples to make learning meaningful and accessible.
In addition to formal classroom teaching, I have provided individualized tutoring support both professionally and informally, helping students improve academic skills while also developing self-advocacy and independence. I prioritize creating a supportive, patient learning environment where students feel safe asking questions and making mistakes. I believe effective tutoring is not just about academic progress, but also about helping students recognize their strengths and develop strategies that work for their unique learning needs.
