I am passionate about helping students navigate the world of math and physics. I hold an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a 3.91 graduate GPA and I co-authored a peer-reviewed scientific research article published in the Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials. Throughout my studies, I received a number of merit-based awards and scholarships including the N.E.W. Engineering Endowed Scholarship and the Hilldale Undergraduate Fellowship. I also have over six years of experience as a Senior Biomedical Engineer, which has given me a strong foundation in STEM and valuable real-world experience.
I have more than three years of combined tutoring experience working with students ranging from grade school through college. I specialize in Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Physics; however, I also have experience tutoring and instructing Calculus I, Calculus II, and Mechanical Engineering courses. In graduate school, I worked as an academic coach where I not only provided tutoring support but also employed various strategies to help students be successful in their studies, such as offering study advice, reviewing test taking strategies, and hosting review sessions. Today, I continue to bring these academic coaching principles into my tutoring sessions.
In my free time, I enjoy painting, photography and all different forms of art. As a result, I like to take a creative approach to learning. My goal is to foster a safe and supportive environment where students build confidence in their abilities, and have the tools they need to succeed in math and science. I strive to make learning enjoyable and tailor each session to the individual, taking into account their interests, motivations, and learning styles to meet their unique needs. I am excited to work with new students, and I look forward to helping them reach their academic goals. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a session!
