I am a freshman at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, majoring in Elementary Education. My passion for teaching has already led me to gain meaningful hands-on experience in both classrooms and leadership roles. During high school, I interned at Burning Tree Elementary in a kindergarten classroom, where I supported students in developing foundational math and literacy skills, worked with small groups, and encouraged children to build confidence as learners. I also taught in a preschool program through my child development course, where I gained experience designing and delivering lessons. In addition, I served as an Assistant Site Director at Camp Levine, a summer arts camp, where I helped oversee programming, guided apprentices, and supported staff. These opportunities strengthened my ability to adapt instruction to a variety of learning styles and reinforced my commitment to education as my career path.
Beyond the formal classroom, I have worked in leadership and tutoring roles that highlight my ability to engage with students of different ages and backgrounds. I taught hockey to children in grades K–3 through an after-school program and have consistently led activities in camp settings, where I guided apprentices and created engaging experiences for younger participants. These roles taught me the importance of patience, encouragement, and structured support. My tutoring approach is centered on breaking concepts down into manageable steps, celebrating progress, and helping students feel confident in their abilities. I specialize in tutoring math through Algebra 1—including pre-algebra, fractions, ratios, percentages, and problem-solving strategies—as well as reading at the elementary and middle school level. I am dedicated to creating a safe, encouraging space where students can take risks, grow, and discover their strengths.
