I’m an Honors student at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities, currently in my junior year studying Neuroscience. My coursework has given me a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, psychology, neuroscience, and other STEM subjects, and I particularly enjoy helping students understand the “why” behind what they are learning rather than simply memorizing information. I earned a 5 on the AP Biology exam, a 4 on both AP Chemistry and AP Calculus AB, and have continued building my knowledge through college-level coursework.

Over the past year, I have developed substantial teaching and tutoring experience working with students in both one on one and classroom settings. I have worked as a private tutor with middle, high school, and college students, helping them strengthen their understanding of challenging material, prepare for exams, and build confidence in subjects they find difficult. I have also served as a teaching assistant through the University of Minnesota’s College of Biological Sciences and College of Liberal Arts, where I have supported undergraduate students with course material, answered questions, explained difficult concepts, and helped students develop more effective approaches to studying and problem solving. Additionally, I have worked with students preparing for AP exams and have successfully helped students improve their understanding and performance, including students working toward scores of 5.

My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I focus on identifying the specific point where a student’s understanding breaks down, then work step by step to build a stronger foundation. I also emphasize active problem solving and asking students to explain concepts in their own words, because being able to recognize an answer is very different from truly understanding the material. My goal is not only to help students perform better academically, but to help them become more confident and independent learners.
