Hi! I'm Manuel, a rising junior at Johns Hopkins University, where I'm double majoring in Applied Mathematics & Statistics and Computer Science. I’ve consistently performed at the top of my class in rigorous coursework ranging from multivariable calculus and linear algebra to machine learning and stochastic processes. I scored a 36 on the math portion of the ACT and a 790 on the SAT math section. My academic interests lie at the intersection of mathematics, computer science, and finance—and I love helping others gain the skills and confidence to master these subjects too.
I've been tutoring for several years now, working with high school and college students in both one-on-one and small group settings. At Johns Hopkins, I served as a course assistant for an undergraduate statistics course, where I guided students through both conceptual challenges and technical problem sets. I’ve also worked on online platforms tutoring English to international students of all ages, which has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly and adapt my teaching style. My students have ranged from middle schoolers just getting their footing in algebra to college students taking advanced courses in probability and data structures.
When it comes to tutoring, I focus on developing deep understanding—not just memorizing formulas or procedures. I tailor each session to the student’s goals, background, and learning style. Whether we’re reviewing for an upcoming exam, reinforcing class material, or exploring enrichment topics, I aim to make the experience both rigorous and encouraging. I also bring real-world experience to my tutoring: I’ve interned in research environments where I’ve applied math and computer science in practical, high-stakes contexts—insight that I love passing along to students. I’m approachable, responsive, and committed to helping you achieve your goals. Feel free to reach out—I’d be excited to work with you!
