Hello! I'm Claire! Thank you for considering me as a tutor. I am excited about the opportunity to support students and to contribute to this platform. I am looking for supplemental income as well as the rewarding nature of helping younger students who need it.

I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry from The University of Washington with a final GPA of 3.24. I was also General Chemistry Student of the Year (GenChem GPA 3.9) at my community college due to my aptitude and passion for learning the material. Before that, my high school GPA was 3.4, and my ACT score was 32. I only took it once because I only needed to take it once. Throughout my education in school and university, I always made use of supplemental materials such as online tutorials, professor office hours, and after-school study sessions, so I know how much supplemental education matters. My educational journey has equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to support students in reaching their academic goals.

I am dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging environment. Learning STEM can be frustrating, and trust and flexibility are essential for effective learning. For example, in my own learning journey, I have found that a combination of visual models, real-world applications, and YouTube do wonders to cement my understanding of chemistry and math concepts. I also just really love digging in to these subjects.

Furthermore, I believe that setting achievable goals and reflecting on progress empowers us to take ownership of progress and learning in all areas of life. I also know the value of communicating with parents about their child's development, and providing insights and strategies they can use.

My ultimate goal as a tutor is to instill confidence in my students while equipping them with the tools they need to succeed academically and beyond.
