Over the past two years, I have had the opportunity to teach and mentor students through the education department at the Yale Peabody Museum, where I work with 9th–12th grade students in subjects including natural science, mathematics, college preparation, and other academic areas. One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is helping students feel more confident in subjects that may initially seem intimidating or difficult. I love finding different ways to explain concepts so that the material feels approachable and engaging, and I find it incredibly rewarding when students begin to connect with ideas they previously struggled with. Teaching has shown me how important patience, encouragement, and curiosity are in helping students succeed both academically and personally.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have also worked with New HYTES, a nonprofit organization that supports elementary through high school students in math, business, and English education. Through both tutoring and mentorship, I have developed a strong appreciation for individualized learning and the impact that supportive instruction can have on a student’s confidence. I genuinely enjoy working with students of different ages and learning styles, and I always try to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively engaging with the material.
