Hello! I am a Communications Professional who misses teaching. I have taught ESL in Korea for a couple years and worked in ESL textbook publishing. Additionally, I worked as a teaching assistant in a International Preschool in Sweden, where I was there to support the children's English learning. During my time in Korea, I also had the opportunity to teach ESL to my colleagues at work and the Education Board supervisors. Beyond teaching ESL, I guest lectured a few times during my doctoral studies at University of Otago.
I have a BA in English with a Writing Concentration, an MA in English Literature and a PhD. My PhD thesis was an examination of representation of marginalized communities in digital narratives (video games). I also have a TEFL certification from my days teaching ESL.
I have a passion for teaching adults but also have a knack for inspiring children to learn language. I have lived in three other countries outside of the U.S. and find working cross-culturally to be the most rewarding of experiences. Over the last few years, I've returned to teaching in small ways, such as teaching ice skating and swimming lessons. I am currently at a crossroads in my career and wanting to explore teaching again.
