Hello! I graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara. I earned a Multiple Subject Credential at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles to become the teacher I always dreamed of being. Over the first five years of my career, I taught third, fourth, and fifth graders in a general education classroom. Next, I went to the Univeristy of the Pacific to earn a credential in Special Education and have enjoyed teaching students with many learning styles. I have worked as a Special Education teacher in an inclusive classroom and as a resource teacher, responsible for the student's IEP goals and general education success.

I have taught students who have struggled with reading (word decoding, fluency, and comprehension), writing (sentences to five-paragraph essays), and math (both standard and common core). I can break down a concept and step students in a patient, nonjudgemental manner so they can gain understanding and the knowledge needed to succeed. I have worked with students with executive functioning issues and can provide systems and tools to become successful and independent learners. I enjoy building students' confidence through positive encouragement, realistic expectations, and a sense of ownership of their education.
