I specialize in providing personalized, one-on-one instruction to help students unlock their full potential. With 7 years of experience as a special education teacher, I've had the privilege of working with students from kindergarten through 5th grade in academic and life skill areas. I hold a master's degree in special education and am dedicated to making learning accessible and effective for every student.

My expertise is rooted in proven, multi-sensory approaches. I have training and hands-on experience using research-based methods such as IMSE Orton-Gillingham (OG+), Sonday Reading System, Barton Reading & Spelling, and Really Great Reading. Additionally, I hold certifications from the Online Language & Literacy Academy (OL&LA), specializing in structured literacy and have completed a 30 hour course on using IMSE's Orton Gillingham based Method.

When working with learners, I strive to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel confident to tackle challenges and build a lifelong love of learning. My experience as a special education teacher has afforded me the opportunity to engage with a wide array of learners making me skilled in meeting students on their level. Additionally, as a current teacher, I offer a level of flexibility and up-to-date information on current research, methods, and strategies.

ADHD

My work with students with ADHD is grounded in a deep understanding of their unique learning profiles, backed by my academic specialization in special education. I focus on implementing tailored executive function strategies, such as explicit instruction in organizational skills, time management, and self-monitoring, to help students succeed in academic and social settings. With over seven years of practical experience teaching special education, I routinely create structured, multi-sensory learning environments and provide consistent behavioral supports that directly address the core challenges associated with ADHD.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

My qualifications for supporting students with special needs are formally established by my Minnesota Academic Behavioral Strategist (ABS) license, which authorizes me to provide specially designed instruction to students with a range of mild-to-moderate needs. This cross-categorical licensure specifically covers five key disability areas: Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), Other Health Disorders (OHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Beyond this, my Master's in Special Education and intensive training in Structured Literacy (IMSE OG+) provide the depth of expertise necessary to create and implement comprehensive, evidence-based Individualized Education Program (IEP) plans across academic, behavioral, and social-emotional domains. My seven years of practical special education teaching experience directly aligns with the ABS role's emphasis on collaborative consultation, assessment, and effective intervention.
Dyslexia

Dyslexia

My expertise is built upon a strong academic foundation, including an education degree with a reading endorsement and a Master's in Special Education. I have completed intensive training in Structured Literacy, specifically through the IMSE Orton-Gillingham Plus program and the Online Language & Literacy Academy, focusing on effective K-12 implementation for every learner. This specialization is supported by over seven years of practical experience teaching special education, successfully applying these evidence-based methods to support numerous students, including those with dyslexia. My focus is on ensuring all students gain essential literacy skills through explicit, systematic instruction.
