I have been playing the piano since the age of 3 and have studied music all of my life. I have a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. I wrote 3 published books on music teaching and play many instruments. I also compose music and have participated in various music groups from concert bands, worship bands and rock bands.

I love all kinds of music styles from classical to pop and rock to video game music. All of these categories contain great music and many easy versions of famous compositions can be found. Sometimes music can be found for free, but usually it must be purchased. I am open to teaching any kind of music that a student desires to learn. We can both decide together whether the music adapts to the piano if it is usually played by a band. We make these decisions together!

I have an extensive music teaching background including private lessons, college and university teaching (both in the classroom and online), and in music teaching schools. The courses I have taught are music theory, music history, music appreciation, and private lessons on piano, guitar, violin and also voice.

If you want to learn to play the piano for your own enjoyment or for any other reason such as possibly going into music as a career, I suggest that you search for a teacher who not only passionately loves music, but really knows and likes the kind of music that you are interested in learning. There is not a lot of free time in our busy lives these days, so to get the most out of a piano lesson, it is necessary to have a very solid foundation coupled with great music!
