Hello! I am Jenna. I am a middle school special education teacher who enjoys bettering students of all ages in all subjects. I have been a resource teacher which means I have been able to co-teach seventh grade Language Arts as well as seventh grade Math. During study hall hours, I also help students with their science and social studies homework with great success. During our advisory time (or homeroom as some schools call it), I help students with their executive functioning skills which often looks like helping them fill out planners and manage their time as well as teach them how to study for tests. I am trained in phonics as well to help students who may have difficulties with reading and writing.
My undergraduate degree is in history. I feel confident tutoring students K-12 in social studies as well as political science. Additionally, due to my love of English and Language Arts, I am confident tutoring students K-12 in language arts.
Due to my training in special education, I am able to teach things in multiple ways. I am able to approach lessons with varying levels of understanding. I also have a great deal of patience and ability to find numerous ways a single lesson. While I am used to helping students get caught up, I am also able to help students stay on track.
