I am willing to tutor students of various ages in numerous areas! I love to tutor in many subject areas, mostly in the humanities, such as Religion, History, Social Studies, English, Art History, and Political Science. I also tutor study skills and basic Reading.

I want my students to succeed. This includes not only comprehension and demonstration of comprehension, but also to be equipped with study skills that can be employed in almost any course. As a tutor for several courses during my undergraduate career, I often attended training sessions that taught me about study methods, working with people who have disabilities, working with international and ESL students, and time management. I also tutored during my time in AmeriCorps, working with elementary and middle school-aged ESL students and at-risk students in reading skills.

Before entering graduate school, I tutored for the Public School District, students in grades 6-10, all subject areas.

I have a 24 hour-notice cancellation policy, and am willing to reschedule makeup sessions. I have a somewhat flexible schedule and can travel to meet a student.

Reading review and analysis

Elizabeth did a very job with tutoring my son and his weekly reading assignments. She prepared ahead of the tutor sessions. And, was able to review and analyze the material in an engaging, effective and productive manner.

Great tutor! Helping with organization, preparation and review!

Elizabeth has been working for a short time with our 7th grade son. He was having a hard time staying on top of assignments as he transitioned to using the school provided computer tablet to do his work. And he also had a hard time prioritizing his activities. Elizabeth has helped him to have a weekly plan and also has worked with him on his home work, and we've seen an immediate result from their working together. All of his grades have improved and he is taking responsibility (and pride) in his work. She questions him to understand how he works and figures out the best way for her to help him accomplish his daily work and stay ahead of his studies. We'd highly recommend Elizabeth and we are planning to work with her on a regular basis.

Awesome Tutor!

Elizabeth is almost always available and made scheduling our sessions very easy. She always gets back to you for any questions you might have and is very easy to work with. Elizabeth improved my note taking, writing, and study skills which made my grade increase from an F to a B in AP US History. I would recommend Elizabeth to anyone!
