Hey there
Thanks for having enough interest to read about me. I've been teaching and performing professionally since 2014, in both orchestral/wind ensembles and jazz ensembles. My degree involved equal components of jazz and classical training. Currently I play trombone in 2 groups that cover the music of Chicago and Steely Dan. We're coming up on 3 years now.

Hey there
Thanks for having enough interest to read about me.

As a student, I taught lessons in the UWS conservatory for 2 years, and amazingly enough I was able to teach masterclasses and individual lessons in Panama for 10 days in the summer of 2015 with the University's music department. We toured many of the provinces and my Spanish was certainly put to the test. It was easy to see how universal music is as a language. The students were varied from 8 to 20 years old and were very eager to understand and learn from us. I was a bit nervous, but I believed in my ability to connect with others no matter their age or where they're at in life. Everybody has something they can teach you, and I love learning from my students.

After I graduated I lived in Colorado and taught trombone and trumpet at Harmony Music House in Boulder.

The students I've had in the US ranged from middle school all the way up to adults picking up the horn for the first time in a while. Some students aren't sure if they want to study or not. No matter what, I always start with an informal chat about any and all of the student's interests. I believe the first lesson should focus on that connection between student and teacher (or as I see it, just 2 people with different backgrounds learning from each other).

In lessons, I strive for an atmosphere of fun, enjoyment, and a shared learning process. Along with any school material, I take delight in finding and transcribing the student's favorite music to work on in lessons. This bolsters us to continually reach higher levels of musicianship, but most of all, have fun with our instruments.

Please don't hesitate to ask any further questions!
