Hello Everyone! My name is Joseph (Joey), and I am a passionate, dedicated tutor eager to support students throughout their academic careers. With over 250 hours of experience tutoring college students, I would love to share my strategies for success!
A little about me: I started tutoring as I earned my Biology Transfer Pathway (A.S.) and Environmental Science (A.S.) degrees from Inver Hills Community College (4.0 GPA). Assisting a diverse student population at the college’s Learning Center as a Peer Tutor, I helped students complete coursework, prepare for exams, and streamline their studying by providing additional resources. Examples of things I tutored include: Principles of Biology, Microbiology, College Algebra, Writing and Research Skills, Study Skills, and more!
After acquiring my degrees, I continued working in academia as the Lab Manager and Biology Tutor at Dakota County Technical College. In this position, I oversee a laboratory equipped with educational models, diagrams, and slides that students use daily for their courses and personal studies. Responsible for collaborating with students & faculty to provide academic support, I work with a neurodiverse student body during individual and group appointments, in person and online!
