Having had the chance to work with OmniReality LLC as a Backend Developer since January 2023, I've had the opportunity to develop virtual reality (VR) experiences by using Unreal Engine, Visual Studio, and C++. I've created custom algorithms to manage physics and interactions, and have designed, implemented, and optimized graphical systems.
Being a developer of 'Not The North Pole', an exciting VR game developed with Unreal Engine, I believe that sharing the behind-the-scenes journey of such a project can help students understand the real-world implications and applications of the skills they are learning. My tutoring methodology will incorporate a balanced blend of theory and practice, ensuring that students are not just consuming information, but also actively creating, problem-solving, and innovating.
In my last year at Bemidji State University, I tutored algebra and calculus concepts to business students, and prior to that, in 2019 I volunteered to teach a classroom filled with middle schoolers on how to automate a flight path for a Parrot Mini Drone, all through a block style programming language.
In the end, my aim as a tutor is not just to pass on knowledge, but also to inspire curiosity and spark creativity. I believe in the power of "learning by doing", and my goal is to equip students with the skills, mindset, and confidence to go out and create their own innovative solutions, whether in VR development or any other domain of their interest.
