Hello! I am an experienced teacher with certifications in English and social studies for grades 6 - 12, as well as Waldorf high school education. I am neurodivergent and am highly attuned to the needs of neurodivergent students (with diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, and ODD, among others). I have a proven track record of success with such students, in addition to my own educational career and the things I have learned to do in order to succeed.
I have been teaching in some form since 2012; I started by teaching German, social studies, and English at a Waldorf high school, then transitioned to online tutoring. In January 2020, I returned to the classroom in a charter alternative school, teaching world history. I was there through the worst of the pandemic, pivoting between in person, distance, and combined learning situations. In 2021, I moved to a large urban high school, where I taught US and world history for two years. I'm now dedicating myself to one to one teaching, specializing in history, English, and language instruction (German and EFL).
When I'm not teaching, I love to read books, crochet, make art, and play the cello. My two cats, Lucy and Sebastian, keep me company. I'm looking forward to working with you!
