I have 9 years experience teaching math, finance, and economics in high school. I began my career in finance but switched careers 9 years ago when I realized how much I enjoyed teaching kids after I agreed to volunteer with my sister who is also a teacher. What makes this job fascinating, is that I visit my high school 5 days a week and not once do I feel as if I'm "going to work." Teaching has clearly been my calling in life, but I attempt to help to do more than just teach a subject. I encourage kids and bring as much positivity as I can. Even from my coaching years, I've learned that students respond much better to positive reinforcement.
I have experience teaching kids from a plethora of backgrounds with an array of learning styles and personalities. I bring a positive approach to teaching and encourage students to do their best. We learn together and having that trust between us allows for the learning to grow.
I worked for 6 years in this industry and developed a course at my high school that transformed from 22 kids to 96 kids in 3 years. I believe in practice application when teaching finance and continue to maintain my positive approach.
