Hi I'm Sam!

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor with a B.A. in Education. After four years as a second grade teacher, I pursued a M.A. at Eastern Michigan University in Communication Sciences and Disorders, graduating among the top of my class. I am a clinically certified speech-language pathologist, and work in both the education and clinical setting. I am also a certified teacher for grades K-8 in the State of Michigan, and specialize in language arts and literacy.

In addition to providing elementary tutoring and speech therapy, I can provide tutoring for speech-language pathology graduate students with course work or preparation for the PRAXIS exam. I can also support with research endeavors, such as writing a master's thesis. My areas of interest include expressive and receptive language, speech sound disorders, gestalt language processing, and literacy.

My focus as a speech-language pathologist and former educator is to empower students by building a positive relationship with them, and identify their areas of strength and growth. I provide targeted skilled individual and group speech therapy. My goal is to give students confidence and to make our sessions engaging. I have tutored many students on Wyzant for years and thoroughly enjoy witnessing so much growth in my students.
