Hello everyone my name is Aamiah! I am a current undergraduate student at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor studying Architecture with a minor in political science. All throughout my educational career math has been and still continues to be my favorite subject and the one I am most proficient in. My tutoring journey began in 6th grade whenI began tutoring K-5 students in English and Math concepts one hour at a time as a school elective.
As a tutor I focus on providing young students with the foundational math skills they need to succeed. This includes a focus on grades Kindergarten-5th in subjects such as counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions. Tutoring on geometry subjects such as area, volume, etc too can be provided for your student.
During tutoring sessions I will engage in methods such as real-world application, math games, worksheets/examples, etc. A general session follows the following format: explaining/teaching concepts, ample practice tailored to fit the needs of an individual student, and real time encouragement that allows the student to feel confident in completing problems on their own.
