I authored a chapter of the 2010 UMBC Critical Care Transport text for Jones & Bartlett, as well as working on other EMS projects for AAOS/Jones & Bartlett and Brady/Prentice Hall. I am a Michigan Paramedic (since '92) - EMS Instructor (since'98); a UMBC certified CCTP; and NREMT certified Paramedic with over 25 years of professional education experience in EMS. My methods vary to achieve the goal of each individual candidate's needs. They include internet/Skype lessons, one-on-one instruction, guided self-study, and directed exercises.

Science

Anatomy,

Anatomy

Anatomy at ANY level is the study of organ structure. Students often have a hard time with this subject as they try to force rote memorization of the (often Latin) terminology. I incorporate little "tricks" to help students remember the structure names - i.e. the thinner/smaller bone that lies in the back of the lower leg is a "Little Lie"... or "FIB" (fibula). I am a Michigan Licensed EMS-Instructor with a good deal of success preparing students for Board Exams.

I provide instruction in pharmacology related to the medical industries of nursing and emergency medical technology. Including drug development, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, drug classification, administration techniques, and emergency medication use.

Physiology at ANY level is the study of body function. Students often have a hard time with this subject as they try to force rote memorization of the processes. I incorporate little "tricks" to help students remember these processes- making a connection between the "what" and organ does and the "why" its doing it. I am a Michigan Licensed EMS-Instructor with a good deal of success preparing students for Board Exams.

ASVAB,

ASVAB

I have several years' experience in test preparation for EMS candidates taking the NREMT Certification Exam and nurses taking the NCLEX exam. These are not dissimilar to the ASVAB test for the Military. I have been involved in test writing for the NREMT and construct exams regularly for an EMS academy. Although it has been several years, I have taken the ASVAB. I feel confident I can assist candidates improve their test-taking abilities with the ASVAB.

Great tutor for interview prep!

Jonathan is very knowledgeable about interview processes. He gives very thoughtful follow-up questions. If you are ever unsure about anything, he will give you comprehensive feedback on it. He certainly shares very interesting stories that are related to the questions and how he personally would answer those questions. Very easy-going and humorous to talk to. Highly recommended!

Super Knowledgeable and Patient

Jonathan was such a huge help when it came to preparing for the NREMT. He is so patient and knowledgeable. After my first attempt he helped me identify my weak areas and strengthen them. I'd done a bunch of studying prior to meeting with him and he taught me how to apply the knowledge on the exam. He really understands the various components of the exam and has really wonderful tips to help you answer tough questions. Thanks to Jonathan I passed the NREMT on my second attempt!! He is truly the best. Can't recommend enough.

Educated, patient, creative and amazing tutor.

I have had a couple sessions already and very excited to have more. Just in 2 sessions I have retained and learned information that I was struggling with the entire time I was in school. He took the time and found the method that worked for me. With his help I know I will pass my test and if I can I will leave another review of me doing so. He is very educated and serious about the material he has gotten me excited about studying again. I highly recommend him!

UNBELIVABLE TUTOR

If you need a tutor for NREMT I used Jon and he was nothing but great. Had his own test bank and knowledge on how the test works. Just an all around great experience. Hope I passed but if I didnt would definitely use him again. Did a crash course with him right before the test and questions we spoke about came up on the test as well. Great Tutor 5 stars.
