I authored a chapter of the 2010 UMBC Critical Care Transport text for Jones & Bartlett, as well as working on other EMS projects for AAOS/Jones & Bartlett and Brady/Prentice Hall. As the former chair of the Education Committee of Michigan's EMS Coordination Committee, I helped the State navigate through the changes of the NHTSA National Scope of Practice, Education Standards and current Instructional Guidelines.

I am a Michigan Paramedic (since '92) - EMS Instructor (since'98); a UMBC certified CCTP; and NREMT certified Paramedic with over 25 years of professional education experience in EMS. Science

Anatomy,

Anatomy

Anatomy at ANY level is the study of organ structure. Students often have a hard time with this subject as they try to force rote memorization of the (often Latin) terminology. I incorporate little "tricks" to help students remember the structure names - i.e. the thinner/smaller bone that lies in the back of the lower leg is a "Little Lie"... or "FIB" (fibula). I am a Michigan Licensed EMS-Instructor with a good deal of success preparing students for Board Exams.

I provide instruction in pharmacology related to the medical industries of nursing and emergency medical technology. Including drug development, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, drug classification, administration techniques, and emergency medication use.
Physiology

Physiology

Physiology at ANY level is the study of body function. Students often have a hard time with this subject as they try to force rote memorization of the processes. I incorporate little "tricks" to help students remember these processes- making a connection between the "what" and organ does and the "why" its doing it. I am a Michigan Licensed EMS-Instructor with a good deal of success preparing students for Board Exams.

Test Preparation

ASVAB,

ASVAB

I have several years' experience in test preparation for EMS candidates taking the NREMT Certification Exam and nurses taking the NCLEX exam. These are not dissimilar to the ASVAB test for the Military. I have been involved in test writing for the NREMT and construct exams regularly for an EMS academy. Although it has been several years, I have taken the ASVAB. I feel confident I can assist candidates improve their test-taking abilities with the ASVAB.

Great intro and ready to learn

Liked the intro and the straight forward trajectory to accomplish the task of passing the NREMT. I think the NREMT should not be an issue given Jonathan's extensive knowledge. He provides guidance and helps you overcome your flaws.

Confidence Boosting Tutor

I started working with Jonathan in May of this year when my self teaching since 2021 wasn’t doing me any good. I was 4 tries it, with no hope left and was sure I would have to redo the program. Like many students, I started my medic school in January of 2020, but it was short lived to due to COVID. It left lots of my classmates and I to self teach almost all of the curriculum. When I failed the 4th time, I reached out to numerous tutors, Jonathan being one, and got to work. Since May, we have gone through almost the whole textbook and he made me feel 98% more confident in the knowledge I had but with the extra boost of confidence. I’m very grateful to have come across his profile and I recommend him to people I work with as well.

Jonathan H. is an excellent EKG teacher.

Thanks to Jonathan H.'s extensive training, I am now an EKG guru. I came to him with a limited knowledge of EKG physiology. Jonathan was very helpful in guiding me through the process of learning to read EKGs, which will be useful for my future as a nurse anesthetist.

Incredible tutor

I chose Jonathan based on reviews and bio for help passing my NREMT. After having unsuccessfully tested once, Jonathan not only provided me with vast knowledge of the material, but the process itself. I was always excited for the next session, and came out having learned multiple things from each. He built up my knowledge and confidence, and helped me to understand the 'hows and whys' to the material. He genuinely showed he cares about my success and has gone above and beyond what I expected. I'm much more prepared to provide patient care, and am re-energized to begin the work I have a passion for. I, of course, was successful after having the opportunity to work with him. You can't go wrong when choosing Jonathan.
