I worked as a paraprofessional in a public elementary school classroom for about a year and a half in a Young Fives program. In this role I assisted the classroom teacher with many parts of the school day and worked closely with students who needed additional support. I helped children build early reading readiness skills such as phonemic awareness, letter recognition, and beginning reading practice. I also worked with students with special needs, providing patient one-on-one support and helping them participate successfully in classroom learning activities.
I currently tutor students through online literacy programs such as BookNook and OnYourMark Education. In these roles I support elementary students in structured tutoring sessions focused on phonics, decoding, and reading fluency. My tutoring work focuses primarily on K–3 students who are developing foundational reading skills or who need extra support to become confident readers.
My approach to tutoring is warm, patient, and encouraging. I believe young readers grow best when they feel supported and successful. During tutoring sessions I guide students through phonics practice, shared reading, and fluency work while helping them understand what they are reading. My goal is to help children strengthen their reading foundation while also building confidence and enjoyment in reading.
