I believe math can be fun! Combining concrete learning to conceptual knowledge is beneficial for mathematical mastery. I am constantly learning through professional training. Having both Bridges in Mathematics and The Science of Math training, allow me to align teaching strategies and student learning styles for optimal success! Both trainings focus on the use of manipulatives, models, and constructing meaning vs rote memorization.
Language arts is my passion! Understanding the Science of Reading's structured literacy approach is key to effectively teach reading and writing. Research based practices, modeling, and the "I do, we do, you do scaffolding," provide students with the steps needed when learning to read and write.
My goal is to help students overcome academic challenges, gain significant confidence in independent study habits, and gain a deeper understanding for life! I am flexible, quick to respond, and eager to help you learn!
