Educational Background:
I am a recent graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Minor in Mathematics, with a 3.5 GPA. I will be beginning my Master of Science in Finance at Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business this summer as a recipient of a full-tuition graduate scholarship. My academic background includes university-level coursework in mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, history, and finance, as well as AP and IB coursework in high school.
Tutoring Experience & Approach:
I have extensive tutoring experience and focus on helping students build both academic skills and confidence. My approach is personalized to each student’s needs and learning style, emphasizing understanding over memorization. I break down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps, reinforce classroom material, and build structured study habits. I have helped multiple students raise math grades from the 40–50% range to above 90% within weeks, as well as helped college-level biology students improve exam scores from the 50% range into the 70% range through targeted support and study strategies.
Teaching Context & Students:
I have experience tutoring students from elementary school through college in both one-on-one and small group settings. My students have included elementary and middle school math students, high school students in multiple STEM and humanities subjects, and college-level biology students. I have worked with students for short-term exam preparation as well as longer-term academic improvement, adapting my teaching style based on age, subject, and learning needs.
