A College student who can teach Middle school and Elementary Math!

Pranathi B.

Hello! I am Pranathi. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering. I would like to use the skills I have learned so far in my education to teach Math to students in Middle school and Elementary school, and to motivate them to put in effort to practice math with an open mind, rather than thoughts of dejection.
I have 3 years of experience assisting children, having helped my mother run her art studio. I have assisted with students of ages, ranging from 10 to 15, and have learned a lot while talking to the students, and how to teach differently to different types of learners. Throughout this experience, I have taught the art students how to appreciate the art that they have created instead of criticizing and comparing their artwork to that of other students. I have mainly taught the students that the value of art comes from the effort that you put into the practice. This applies to any subject or hobby in general.
I have also been a Level 1 Archery coach who taught students one-on-one on how to aim and fix their stance when shooting in the range. I have dealt with different types of learners in this teaching experience as well. Teaching them how I have improved significantly by practicing consistently.
I feel like if you had the right teacher, learning can be made fun and something you can enjoy rather than dislike. In that way, I want to make learning the topic enjoyable enough for the student to rely on their skills and effort instead of shortcuts to be able to improve their Math skills. I am the kind of tutor who will try my best to make the student understand the topic in very simple terms and will try to break it down for them as much as I can.
Feel free to schedule a lesson by messaging me. I will not charge a fee for last-minute cancellations, but I would prefer a heads-up at least an hour before the session.
