Hello, I'm Miran! Well, I cannot teach quite everything, but knowledge exists to be learned and shared, and I've been curious. Over time I got to learn a range of subjects, and enjoy teaching all of them. Whether you need instruction in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science, or perhaps Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, and History; whether you're preparing for a test or would like to delve into obscure topics, I can be your companion and guide.
I love mathematics and have a natural affinity for it, and my Bachelor's degree is in math from Yale University. As I studied it, though, I realized that I was also interested in how the society around me worked, in how people come to hold very different images of reality while moving through the same world, and in how to convey my own different understandings to others. I became a social scientist and an educator. I moved from math, to programming, to teaching, to studying education, and finally received my doctorate in anthropology from Arizona State University.
I have now taught college social sciences for eight years. In this, I enjoy the opportunity to work with students one-on-one, to improve their understanding and thinking. Before graduate school, though, I taught high school mathematics for a year, and worked on creating standardized tests in math and computer science. At the same time, I tutored middle school and high school students one-on-one in math, physics, and programming. I know how standardized tests work, and will happily apply my knowledge to help you do well.
