I have a B.S. in Psychology and German from Central Michigan University (magna cum laude) and completed five years of graduate work in Germany, passing all eight of the cumulative Diplom exams (equivalent to a Master's level). I have over 15 years of experience teaching both adults and children and believe in continuous education. I have completed 4 TESOL courses and received certificates in:

I apply my educational psychology background to employ various learning strategies in the classroom to ensure achievement. Utilizing visual cues, I encourage students to practice their grammar and vocabulary skills in conversational exercises. With a vast collection of books, games and audio/visual materials, I have compiled complete courses for each proficiency level.

I taught in a Sonderschule (special ed. school) for my internship and translated numerous documents within the university as well as at an institute outside the university. I also worked as an interpreter at conferences in Frankfurt, Germany.

I have been working at a private German school, Deutsche Sprachschule Bloomfield (DSB) school since 2019. I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade. We have mandatory workshops to learn various skills for the classroom, such as: "Hands-on-Abwechslung im Onlineunterricht" (hands-on variety for online lessons), "Singen und Spielen mit Sprache. Musik und Reim als Mittel der impliziten Sprachförderung" (Singing and playing with language. Music and rhyme as a means to foster implicit language learning), and "Teaching students with challenging behaviors".
