I am a certified elementary teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Western Governors University. I hold a Michigan teaching certificate in Elementary K–5 All Subjects (K–8 All Subjects Self-Contained Classrooms). I completed my student teaching in a first-grade classroom from September to November 2024, where I designed and delivered instruction, differentiated learning for a range of student needs, and built strong classroom routines. Since December 2024, I’ve worked as a K–5 substitute teacher, gaining valuable experience across grade levels and adapting instruction to diverse learning styles.
Before earning my certification, I served as an instructional assistant in a K–2 elementary school for two and a half years. There, I worked closely with students in one-on-one and small group settings to support foundational skills in literacy and math. Over the past year, I’ve also tutored and shadowed professional educators, deepening my understanding of effective, research-based teaching strategies. I often incorporate elements of the Orton-Gillingham approach into my tutoring, especially to support early literacy and struggling readers with structured, multisensory instruction.
My approach is student-centered, supportive, and flexible. I aim to build a learning environment where students feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, and build confidence. Whether your child needs extra help in reading, writing, math, or overall classroom readiness, I bring patience, structure, and a passion for helping young learners succeed.
