Hello. My name is Dean. I am a member of the adjunct faculty at both Mid Michigan Community College and Northwood University. I have taught basic and intermediate algebra since 2001. I have also taught pre-calculus, business mathematics and mathematics for elementary school teachers. I have tutored a number of students over the past few years as well, and enjoy helping students succeed. I have an MBA in Finance from Central Michigan University but mathematics has always been one of my primary interests.
My teaching style is based on general rules that form a basis for algebra, and repetition to reinforce concepts. I am very easy-going and easy to talk to. I know algebra is difficult for many students to understand, and I work to find the areas a student is lacking (the building blocks as I like to call them) and make sure those are secure in understanding before moving to more difficult concepts.
