Hello. I'm a 22 year old from Saint Clair, Michigan. I have some experience tutoring (mostly friends and close family, various ages from 12-30) but I have confidence I can still teach well.
Tutoring is quite the enjoyable experience for me. I know, like many others, firsthand the experience of finally getting something. That, "Aha!" moment is great. Tutoring is quite the enjoyable experience for me. I know, like many others, firsthand the experience of finally getting something. That, "Aha!" moment is great. I want to give others that feeling as well. It makes me feel like I'm actually helping. Also, teaching others gives me the opportunity to learn more about the subject myself.
I'm JLPT N2 qualified and I've also lived about 4 years in Japan. I part-time as a translator so I have some knowledge about the more complicated parts of the language. English (writing/grammar/etc.) has always been my best subject. I'm a native English speaker as well.
The reason I was in Japan was related to my father's work. He was a pilot in the Navy so we moved around about every 3-5 years. Back then, I didn't know much Japanese but by the end of that 4 year period, I had expanded my knowledge. The reason? Because I asked questions. Asking questions is important, whether as the tutor or the student. If I did not ask questions, then I would not know what I do today. That is the basis for my approach to tutoring, encouraging my students to ask questions without being embarrassed or ridiculed.
I'd appreciate if you contacted me. I'm free almost all the time. Thanks for any consideration.
