I am currently an MD candidate at Central Michigan University, building on a strong foundation in the sciences with a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with honors from the University of Michigan. My academic journey has prepared me with a robust understanding of biological sciences and test prep, which I have consistently enjoyed sharing with students of various ages and backgrounds.
Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, I gained significant tutoring experience. At the University of Michigan, I worked with Wolverine Tutors to teach high school physics to students at the Pathways to Success school, focusing on breaking down challenging topics into relatable, real-world examples. I also served as a tutor for an introductory biology course at Kalamazoo College, where I helped design and structure the program to better support first-year students. In addition, I volunteered with the Kalamazoo Chapter of the Society of Physics Students to run engaging activities at an elementary school, encouraging young children to explore basic physics concepts through hands-on experiments. More recently, I conducted a mentorship panel for medical students to share strategies for preparing for the USMLE Step 1 exam. My experience ranges from one-on-one sessions to group panels and classroom settings, and I strive to create an encouraging learning environment that adapts to each student’s needs and learning style.
