Hello, my name is Julie. I am currently a Reading Specialist and have taught 4th grade for over 6 years. I have a Master's degree from Oakland University in Reading and Language Arts and obtained my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Michigan State University! I am very fun, loving, and motivated to teach every child. I am very flexible and willing to work with both parents and students to obtain the maximum learning opportunities. I have a Professional Teaching certification. I am certified to teach all subjects in a K-5 self-contained classroom. I am also certified to teach English/Language Arts in a 6-8 classroom. In addition to this certification, I have a Master's degree in Reading and Language Arts with a Reading Specialist certification. I have been teaching 4th grade for 6 years in a K-8 elementary school.

I have a Master's degree from Oakland University with a Reading Specialist endorsement. In addition to my advanced degree I am also competent and experienced in many types of phonics programs and diagnostic testing, including, but not limited to, Diebels and Diebels Next, DRAs, IRAs, MLPP, Sound Partners, Read Naturally, 95% Group, Inc., and F.A.S.T. I have also taught in many lower elementary classrooms with a phonics based instruction.

Study Skills

I am a certified Elementary teacher, with a Master's degree in Reading and Language Arts. I have over 7 years of teaching experience. Many of my instructional practices include teaching study skills so that the students can gain extensive knowledge on topics in and out of the classroom. Study skills are an important part of students' daily educational habits and need to be put in place early on and encouraged throughout a child's education.
