I am a rising third-year medical student at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, currently preparing for my USMLE Step 1 exam. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Detroit Mercy, where I developed a strong foundation in the sciences and was involved in research throughout my time there. Because I’m actively in medical training, I have a very current and practical understanding of subjects like biology, chemistry, physiology, and pathology, and I’m especially comfortable helping students navigate pre-med coursework and high-stakes exams.
I’ve worked with students in both one-on-one and small group settings, ranging from middle school to college level. My teaching style is very personalized, I like to figure out how each student thinks and learns, and then adapt my approach to fit them. I focus a lot on breaking down complex topics into simpler, more manageable pieces, and I emphasize truly understanding concepts rather than just memorizing them. I also use active learning strategies like practice questions, talking through reasoning, and having students explain concepts back to me, because that’s what actually makes things stick.
What makes my approach different is that I genuinely get what students are going through, because I’m in it too. I know how stressful and overwhelming these subjects can feel, so I try to create a space that’s supportive, low-pressure, and encouraging. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence over time.
My goal isn’t just to help improve grades, it’s to help students become more confident, independent learners who actually understand what they’re studying.
