I have always had an affinity for mathematics and have enjoyed explaining math to my peers as I have learned it throughout my life. I was very successful in high school math, obtained a 1520 SAT score, and attended the University of Michigan, obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics—Finance and Risk Management in December 2023.
In 2022, I spent a summer tutoring students of all backgrounds (K–12) as an employee of a well-known learning center and enjoyed learning different methods of teaching students based on how they learn best and encouraging them to get work done in a classroom environment. Recently, I have spent some time as a substitute teacher at South Lake Schools, where my father is the middle school principal, and have further discovered strategies to help students complete work and digest information, regardless of their background. Finally, I have spent some time doing one-on-one tutoring, and it has allowed me to really focus on individual students' learning strategies and specifically tailoring math to make it as digestible as possible for them.
As a tutor, I will demonstrate the topics that the student needs help with and work through practice problems with the student until they can complete them consistently on their own.
